Second Océ Arizona further broadens Colouration’s appeal

London, UK, 16 September 2010 - London-based Colouration has taken its second Arizona 550 GT UV flatbed printer from Océ.The investment came about after the new business won as a result of installing the initial Océ Arizona machine exceeded expectation and the machine was assigned to operating on a 24/7 basis in order to cope with the extra demand.

Colouration was the first UK company to install Océ’s Arizona 550 printer back in March 2010.  The system was brought in so that the company could migrate from roll-fed to direct to media production; and benefit from offering customers flat-bed printing on a range of different materials, to photographic-like quality.

Tony Dennington, Managing Director at Colouration, said:  “Just a few months ago we were using five roll-fed machines to service our clients in the high-quality visual display marketplace.  Since then we’ve replaced three of them with two Arizona 550 GTs, which allow us to print directly onto a range of both flexible and rigid materials.

“This seriously cuts back the time it takes to produce a job and we expect that, thank to Océ’s Arizona printer, our productivity will increase by 50% in the coming weeks, compared to what it was four months ago.”

The investment is part of a state-of-the-art modernisation strategy, which sees Colouration employing some sophisticated techniques designed to increase market-share.  Nine months ago, the company adopted a new 3D visual demonstration service, whereby the company is able to present an on-screen life-like mock-up of the work that will be produced on the Arizona’s, in order to help customers envisage a project before committing to order.

“Providing a way of showing our customers the intended end result of a job has had a real impact on turning queries into orders,” explains Mr Dennington.  “It helps them visualise the variety of projects and the scope of creativity that we can now offer with Océ Arizona flatbed printing.  Our state-of-the-art 3D software; together with the versatility and quality offered by the technology used in the Arizona printers; make a powerful combination for generating new business.  It’s a good job we ordered that second machine when we did as things are taking off very quickly indeed.

”Dominic Fahy, Business Océ UK Group Director, Display Graphics and Imaging Supplies, said: “The investment by Colouration is already paying dividends and will help them further increase market share. Colouration is using Océ’s Arizona technology to great effect and the proof of the technology’s capabilities is reflected in the growing number of orders received by the company.”
