FIDUCIA installs second Océ JetStream

IT services supplier upgrades its systems for transaction printing

Venlo, The Netherlands, 3 May 2010 – Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, today announces that FIDUCIA IT AG extended its array of printing systems with an Océ JetStream® 1000. The new system is intended to handle production peaks and take on most of the b/w printing tasks. At the beginning of 2009 this IT service provider had installed an Océ JetStream 1500 for its entry into full-colour transaction and TransPromo printing.

At work for 20 million customers

FIDUCIA IT AG in Karlsruhe is one of Germany's largest suppliers of information technology services. With around 2800 employees, the company offers computing centre services, software development and IT solutions and services to its customers, who include financial institutes, industrial and trading companies and public authorities. One of the services provided by FIDUCIA is the printing and distribution of bank account statements, bookings lists and lists of securities for 740 cooperative banks with an overall total of around 20 million customers.

Consistent acquisition path

In order to handle the peak loads that can occur when these documents are being produced, FIDUCIA has operated the Océ JetStream 1000 in addition to its existing Océ JetStream 1500 twin system since the end of February 2010. “Our decision to increasingly switchover transaction printing to digital full-colour production was both correct and forward-looking,” notes Christian Kempf, Manager of the Printing and Distribution Centre at FIDUCIA. “We have followed a consistent path with the acquisition of the Océ JetStream 1000 and are in a position to always offer our customers outstanding quality at an attractive price.”

A further argument for the installation of the new high-performance inkjet system is, according to Mr. Kempf, the possibility to move large volumes of b/w printing from laser to inkjet production. “Several years ago, that would have been unthinkable for us,” he says, “but the power of the Océ JetStream, in combination with its outstanding print quality and low production costs, also offers considerable advantages in this sector – advantages that, in the final analysis, our customers profit from.”

For flexible use and peaks of up to 30 million pages

“We are pleased that after installing the Océ JetStream 1500, FIDUCIA IT AG has now integrated a second system from the series into its production,” comments Michael Krebs, Member of the Board of Océ Deutschland GmbH and responsible for the Business Division Production Printing. “This is further proof of both the performance of our Océ JetStream systems and the fact that the future belongs to the digital production of mailshots and transaction documents.”

The Océ JetStream 1000 is one of the most flexible continuous feed full-colour printing systems for transaction printing, direct mail and TransPromo applications. It operates at a process speed of 75 metres (around 1,010 DIN A4 pages) per minute and is designed for monthly printing volumes of 6 to 8 million pages – with production peaks of up to 30 million pages. The Océ JetStream 1000 is the first full-colour inkjet printing system in its class that offers front and back printing across the full printing width in an extremely compact print tower. In addition, the system can be upgraded on site step-by-step from 1/0 printing to full colour and on up to 6/6 colour applications.
