  • Sales of imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices hit over 100,000 units globally since launch

  • The imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2025i offers new copy and print speeds of 25ppm to help organisations increase office productivity

  • New MailboxLite MEAP application offers ‘store to’ and ‘print from’ mailbox capabilities to the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2000 series

London, UK, July 01, 2011 - Canon Europe, world leader in imaging solutions, today announced the expansion of its successful imageRUNNER ADVANCE multifunctional device (MFD) colour A3 range with the launch of the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2025i. The new device combines the cost efficiency, enhanced network security and environmental benefits provided by the full C2000 series with copy and print speeds of 25ppm to help increase office worker productivity.

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE platform continues to grow strongly in terms of sales and market share. Since its launch in October 2009, the successful platform has achieved sales of more than 100,000 units globally. In Q1 2011 Canon’s A3 colour devices outgrew that of the overall market*, with sales in the 30-49ppm segment more than doubling.

The Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2020i also demonstrated “flawless reliability” in BLI’s 35,000-impression durability test. Following extensive independent testing, BLI rated the device as an “outstanding performer” with “excellent reliability and exceptional ease of use”**.

Paul Rowntree, European Product Marketing Director, Canon Europe says, “We’ve already seen great success with the imageRUNNER ADVANCE series in 2010 and it’s fantastic to see customer confidence in Canon continuing to strengthen through the sheer speed of sales achieved during Q1 2011.  With the launch of the C2025i we can now provide an even broader range of print speeds, increased security and mailbox functionality to customers looking for quality A3 colour multifunctional devices.”

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2025i offers the same outstanding quality, usability, security and seamless integration in customer environments as the existing models, with an extremely small footprint. Its advanced design architecture reduces running costs and maximises uptime, while features like secure print, data encryption, digital user and device signatures, as well as hard disk removal, allow customers to better secure the integrity of business documents and information.

The new MFD also offers impressive environmental benefits, such as fast warm up speeds of 38 seconds or less and very low power consumption (1.5W) in sleep mode. Other features include a 5.7” TFT VGA Colour Touch Screen, print resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi, paper capacity of up to 2,000 sheets, and the ability to handle A5R to SRA3 paper formats.

In response to increasing customer demand, the full C2000 range can now be equipped with mailbox functionality through MailBoxLite; a newly developed MEAP application that allows users to store documents in a personal mailbox on the multifunctional device. This is particularly suitable for workgroups and departments where the device is shared by multiple users and located away from the users’ desks. MailBoxLite enables users to choose when they collect their documents from the device, limiting the number of trips to the printer and the security risk associated with uncollected documents.

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2025i is available from 01 July, 2011.
