  • Go for target group 1

  • Dialogue, discussion, networking with international experts

“The industry trend is developing dynamically in the direction of full colour. Today communication can be cross-media and exactly tailored to the need of the individual recipient. High-performance inkjet continuous feed printing already enables results that are close to those of offset printing in the high-end sector except that they are considerably more flexible, more individual and faster for small and mid-volume print runs.”
Sebastian Landesberger, Executive Vice President, Océ Production Printing

“Individualised high-speed digital printing is an attractive field of business that is increasingly supplementing industrial print runs. The print value creation chain in conventional printing is undergoing change, for example through hybrid products.”
Sebastian Landesberger, Executive Vice President, Océ Production Printing

FULL PRESS RELEASE

The Future of Digital Printing

Océ Production Printing Summit from 7 – 10 June 2011

Venlo, The Netherlands, 6 April 2011 – Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, today announced that Océ Printing Systems GmbH, the world's leading manufacturer of high-performance printing systems for digital continuous feed printing, will be holding the “Océ Production Printing Summit” in its Océ Leadership Technology Hub in Poing/Munich from 7 to 10 June 2011.

Go for target group 1

Under the motto “The Future of Digital Printing” Océ will present, on 6,000 square metres of exhibition floor space, forward-looking solutions for high-productivity data printing together with its partners in the pre- and post-processing business and workflow integration. The Océ Production Printing Summit ties in seamlessly to the worldwide success of the earlier “Océ OpenHouse” events, but now the topics will concentrate on production printing.

The Océ high-performance show will focus on the migration from monochrome to full colour in variable data printing. A broadening of perspective concerning the benefits and effect of documents is currently taking place within companies. Marketing-driven topics such as fully individualised mailings and the growing use of “target group 1” elements are increasingly becoming a decisive competitive factor.

Dialogue, discussion, networking with international experts

Data sovereignty is binding and both the company and the supplier of print services must have answers to new trends ready. The Océ Production Printing Summit will show how the changeover to full colour in variable data printing can be successfully completed step-by-step and will underpin this through numerous examples that have already been realised.

“Many key industries have already recognised the opportunities that arise through intelligent migration concepts,” explains Sebastian Landesberger, Executive Vice President, Océ Production Printing. “The industry trend is developing dynamically in the direction of full colour. Today communication can be cross-media and exactly tailored to the need of the individual recipient. High-performance inkjet continuous feed printing already enables results that are close to those of offset printing in the high-end sector except that they are considerably more flexible, more individual and faster for small and mid-volume print runs. The Océ Production Printing Summit offers decision-makers not only the right technology platform but also dialogue, discussion and networking with international industry experts on business-relevant questions focusing on high-speed variable data printing.”

The world's broadest inkjet portfolio

Océ today offers the market the world's broadest inkjet portfolio. The successfully established Océ JetStream® family has been conceived for modular areas of usage with up to 3,030 pages per minute and a print width of up to 30 inches. All Océ inkjet systems particularly exhibit their added value in applications with the highest growth rates such as transaction printing, direct marketing, short-run book printing and technical documentation as well as within the process optimisation framework, for example by replacing preprinted forms.

The latest inkjet innovation, the Océ ColorStream® 3500, is perfectly suited for the customised migration from monochrome to full colour with its 75 m/min (1,010 A4 pages per minute) in excellent print quality. It is also the first inkjet printing system that has been developed and manufactured by Océ Production Printing in Poing/Munich. The Océ ColorStream 3500 combines modular growth towards full colour, from monochrome to up to 6 colour stations with simplex-duplex flexibility across various single and twin configurations and other performance features that increase production efficiency.

Integrated workflow

The portfolio of products and services is supplemented by the cross-platform Océ PRISMA® suite that gives an integrated workflow along the entire digital value creation chain and tailored post-processing and finishing solutions. In addition, the very successful toner-based Océ VarioStream® 7000 / 8000 and Océ ColorStream 10000 Flex technologies are on display along with their relevant applications. The digital high-performance show is rounded off with production cutsheet solutions for digital monochrome and colour printing, such as the Océ VarioPrint® 6000 printing system and the Canon imagePRESS® C7010VP printing system.

Océ together with manroland are …

At the Océ Production Printing Summit Océ will present the most important trends and growth applications in high-speed data printing, for example for transaction and TransPromo, premium direct mail, loyalty and trade applications as well as security printing. A further central element of the Océ Summit will, together with manroland, be the application-related combination of print data management, digital and offset printing and print post-processing. The individual manufacturing steps of the graphic arts industry will be brought home through innovative individualised print products, for example from the publishing and job printing business, and these will be linked into business models.

“Individualised high-speed digital printing is an attractive field of business that is increasingly supplementing industrial print runs. The print value creation chain in conventional printing is undergoing change, for example through hybrid products,” explains Landesberger. “With our inkjet technologies, we will be showing a combination of highest quality and maximum individualisation as well as their value proposition for modern print communication, at the Océ Production Printing Summit. Our alliance with manroland is, particularly in this pre-drupa year, a part of our strategy that points the way forward.”

… first all-inclusive suppliers for graphic arts

Since 2011 manroland and Océ have been the first suppliers to offer the market tailor-made, all-inclusive digital printing solutions for the graphics industry from a single source. The cooperation includes consulting, systems, services and materials. manroland is the leader in webfed offset printing and possesses enormous expertise in the development and manufacture of high-productivity offset technologies as well as the associated post-processing and finishing systems. Océ, the No. 1 in digital full-colour continuous feed printing, has profound experience in the fields of system integration, workflow management and variable high-speed data printing. The printing industry will be the main beneficiary of this cooperation, being in a position to choose forward-looking technologies and workflow solutions following joint consulting by manroland and Océ.
