Newspaper Industry Benefits From Digital Publishing

The newspaper industry revenue stream is under pressure as advertisers look at other channels that deliver a higher ROI through a more targeted and personalised approach.  Now, with high-speed digital technology and the width necessary to print newspapers in their original format, it is possible to apply the successful one-to-one target model of direct mail to the newspaper industry. The result can be more profitable customer response to targeted advertising. Additionally newspapers further explore opportunities in short-run distributed print, niche publications or special editions, and micro-zone publishing.

More Productivity for Digital Book Printing

Digital book printing has seen widespread growth as publishers and printers transition from offset to digital production. With the new wider print width on the Océ JetStream 3300 system, more books can be produced in less time and with less waste. The wider format supports digital printing of 12- and 16-page book signatures, further positioning digital production as a viable alternative to offset book printing.

Based on Proven Océ JetStream Technology

Along with the same ink and inkjet heads, the Océ JetStream 3300 system is based on industry-leading Océ DigiDot inkjet technology and SRA MP controller architecture found across the Océ JetStream family. Océ DigiDot printing enables the highest output quality and productivity with variable dot size for added flexibility and multi-level printing on the media range (64-157 gsm) and print quality as the current Océ JetStream family. SRA MP Controller architecture drives the highest productivity and uninterrupted workflow for AFP/IPDS and PDF data streams.

Less ink, less waste

The Océ JetStream has a smaller carbon footprint, a more economical use of ink and less waste than its competitors, extending the Océ environmental sustainability commitment to the high volume colour inkjet market.
