About eReco
Specialising in the collection, recycling, refurbishment and remarketing of WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), eReco is an Approved Authorised Treatment Facility. They also handle associated waste streams such as printer consumables, and provide a completely green toner bottle recycling solution.
With safety imperative, eReco ensures it issues full Category 3 Personal Protective Equipment and is regularly inspected for H & S compliance.
What does eReco provide?
eReco offers a seamless 100 per cent environment-friendly recycling service by providing and utilising:
• A national logistics service through its own fleet and licensed logistics partner.
• A downstream recycling process it has developed to maximise the sustainability of the recycling of materials.
• NO DOWNCYCLING – eReco’s process ensures that the near-virgin polymers produced can be repeatedly recycled unlike, for example, the use of mixed plastics in low grade garden furniture, which cannot be recycled further.
• All duty of care paperwork such as waste transfer notes in order to comply with current legislation.
• Detailed auditable asset tracking reports and downstream process.
• Supply of detailed reports and information to its clients.
• Zero landfill policy.
The process
Asset tracking with preliminary sorting
• Bottles are separated from packaging and sorted by manufacturer, product type, colour and plastics type.
• Streamed for toner andWEEE recycling.
Further sorting
• Cross checking of the preliminary sorting and further segregation.
Depollution and accumulation
• Dry depollution of toner and accumulation of waste carbon black, C, M, and Y colours separately.
• Semi-automatic process which utilises individual colour booths with an air knife, negative air pressure, and then a filtration and accumulation system.
Separation of materials with further depollution
• Physical separation of plastics from metals and then a further dry depollution of minute amounts of residue.
• Outturn reports are made detailing the materials separated.
Sorting of plastic types
• Sorting is done by utilising state-of-the-art laser technology. This is the only machine in Europe capable of sorting plastics via a more sophisticated method than spectrum analysis.
It is necessary to ensure near-zero contamination levels in granulate, thus ensuring ability to reuse plastics types as a near-virgin commodity in manufacturing processes. eReco is committed to recycling, not ‘downcycling’.
